(LiveMint) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government on Tuesday approved a scheme for the home delivery of ration supplies, fulfilling a key election promise made earlier this year. Announcing the Mukhyamantri Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana scheme after a cabinet meeting, chief minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal said the scheme, once launched, will also be synced with the central government’s ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme for inter-state portability of ration cards. The entire process will take 6-7 months to implement, Kejriwal said. Beneficiaries will still be able to choose to collect their ration from shops. (ET) In a much-needed relief to handloom sector in times of losses due to coronavirus crisis, the UP government will provide rebate to weavers on power consumed in their units. The scheme will be applicable in retrospective effect from January 1, 2020. (ET) Researchers at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have found a major fault line along the coast in the Krishna-Godavari basin in Andhra Pradesh and predicted that it could trigger earthquakes and tsunamis in the future. The researchers said the fault was once active and it may become active again. This poses a major earthquake threat to the north coastal region of the state, particularly the port city of Visakhapatnam. (ET) Talks about selling a 20 per cent stake in Reliance Industries Ltd’s oil-to-chemical business to Saudi Aramco have stalled over the valuation, four sources familiar with the matter said, as the energy market has been hit by COVID-19. Aramco wants India’s Reliance to review its price for the oil-to-chemical business as the global valuation of oil assets has tumbled due to falling demand for crude, one source said. A second source said Aramco wanted to “revisit” the valuation. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani told shareholders on Wednesday a deal had been delayed due to “unforeseen circumstances in the energy market and the COVID-19 situation”.
