Earlier in September, the 800 MW Unit-1 of the project was made commercially operational. “800 MW, Unit-2 of Lara Super Thermal Power Project, has been added to Installed Capacity of the NTPC on successful completion of trial operation. (LiveMint) New coronavirus cases in India rose 37,724 in past 24 hours, pushing the total Covid-19 tally in India near 12 lakh mark today, while the total number of recoveries crossed 7.53 lakh, according to the Union Health Ministry data. (ET) India’s top gas importer Petronet LNG has renewed its initial deal to consider investing $2.5 billion in U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) developer Tellurian Inc’s Driftwood project, Indian sources familiar with the matter said. Petronet and Tellurian now have time until the end of December to finalise the deal, they said. The memorandum of understanding, which lapsed on May 31, was renewed last week ahead of a virtual meeting between Indian oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan and U.S. Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette.
