(LiveMint) The Supreme Court (SC) has made filing cases online simple and affordable amid restrictions over maintain social distancing. According to the SC registry, 640 cases were registered online between 22 March and 8 July. “The e-filing process in the Supreme Court has made it easy to file cases. (ET) Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has planned to set up more number of compressed biogas (CBG) units in the country. In a video conference with reporters from Puduchatram in Namakkal district on Thursday, executive director and state head of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) P Jayadevan said IOC would be responsible for the compressed biogas and this can be consumed as a green renewable energy for automotive and industrial applications. “Through central government’s sustainable alternative towards affordable transportation (SATAT), IOC envisages a target production of 15 million metric tonne of compressed biogas from 5,000 plants across the country by 2023,” he said.

(ET) Uttar Pradesh power distribution utility has sought Rs 20,940 crore loan from REC Ltd and Power Finance Corp (PFC) under the Atmanirbhar Bharat liquidity infusion package in the power sector. This is the largest loan application made so far by any state distribution company under the scheme. Tamil Nadu has asked the Centre to relax borrowing cap and has shown intent to borrow about Rs 20,622 crore. The power ministry has approached the Cabinet for the relaxations and the matter is likely to be taken up soon.
