(MC) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on July 7 imposed monetary penalties on 14 banks including Bandhan Bank, Bank of Baroda and State Bank of India (SBI) for various rule violations, the central bank said in a press release. These 14 banks include public sector banks, private banks, foreign bank, Co-operative banks and one small finance bank. The violations include non-compliance with certain provisions of directions issued by RBI on ‘Lending to Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs)’ ‘Bank Finance to Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs)’ and ‘Loans and Advances – Statutory and Other Restrictions’, the RBI said.

Wednesday’s petrol price in the national capital is Rs 100.21 per litre after a 35 paise hike. Born Mohammed Yusuf Khan in 1922 in Peshawar, now in Pakistan, he was known by the screen name of Dilip Kumar once he joined Bollywood in the 1940s. (Zee Business) Union Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a meeting on mining expansion plans of state-owned SAIL which looks to more than double its steel-making capacity to 50 MTPA by 2030. Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), under the Ministry of Steel, is the country’s largest steel making company with an annual capacity of over 21 million tonnes (MT). Expanding capacity would require an additional amount of raw materials.
