The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is launching the second edition of its ‘Nudge’ campaign where it sends emails and messages to taxpayers to revise their returns as it has found several cases where taxpayers have foreign assets that they have not declared. The first edition of this Non-intrusive Usage of Data to Guide and Enable (NUDGE) campaign, launched in November 2024, resulted in taxpayers revising their returns and disclosing foreign assets amounting to ₹29,208 crore, along with foreign-source income of Rs 1,089.88 crore, the CBDT said in a release. (PTI) Markets regulator Sebi introduced a new incentive structure for mutual fund distributors, whereby they will receive additional commission for bringing in new individual investors from B-30 cities and new women investors from any city. The new incentive structure, aimed at promoting wider outreach and awareness, will become effective from February 1, 2026, Sebi said in its circular. Under this, asset management companies (AMCs) will pay these distributors 1 per cent of the first lump-sum investment or the first-year SIP amount, up to Rs 2,000, provided the investor stays invested for at least a year.
