(PTI) The Railway Board has directed all zones to expedite the installation of automatic closure systems at 1,228 level crossings so that a train cannot receive a green signal unless the level crossing gate is properly closed for road traffic. (PTI) The preparation of India’s Trade Policy Review (TPR) report by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) is in full swing, and it is expected to be released in July, an official said. In this regard, a team of officials from the WTO Secretariat was here last week. “The work for the report is going on. We will submit the government report and also give our views on the WTO’s Secretariat report,” the official said.
India’s crude oil purchases from Russia more than tripled to 5.3 billion euro in March as volumes doubled and a surge in oil prices pushed up the import bill. European think tank Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA), in a report, said after a drop in purchases in February, India was back to a buying binge in March. “India was the second-highest buyer of Russian fossil fuels in March 2026, importing a total of EUR 5.8 billion of Russian hydrocarbons. Crude oil products constituted 91 per cent of India’s purchases, totalling EUR 5.3 billion,” it said.

Working relentlessly towards the development of National Highway infrastructure in the country, NHAI, during the Financial Year 2025-26, constructed 5,313 km of National Highways, which is about 15% higher than the target of 4,640 km for the year. Also, the capital expenditure by NHAI in Financial Year 2025-26 for the development of National Highway infrastructure was at Rs. 2,44,362 crore. The poll panel, however, did not provide details on the total number of deletions or inclusions in the third list, which follows the publication of the second supplementary list on Friday night.
