Under the agreement, the India Yamaha Motors will identify 12th passed and ITI passed youths who would be given two years of training in maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and related trades. (ET) Road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has ordered early completion of national highway projects in the seven north eastern states. The minister will review the progress of the ongoing projects during his visit to Shillong over the weekend. (FE) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday announced the co-origination model between banks and non-banking financial companies. Under the new guidelines, all scheduled commercial banks (excluding regional rural banks and small finance banks) may engage with non-banking financial companies- non-deposit taking-systemically important (NBFC-ND-SIs) to co-originate loans for the creation of priority sector assets. The arrangement should entail joint contribution of credit at the facility level by both lenders. The proposal to raise funds up to ₹20,000 crore from domestic market through issue of secured /unsecured, non-convertible, noncumulative/ cumulative, redeemable, taxable/tax-free debentures/bonds under private placement during 2019-20 in up to twenty tranches/offers was listed on the agenda of its annual general meeting on held 18 September. (LiveMint) Interest rates on various small savings schemes, including Public Provident Fund (PPF), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP), National Savings Certificate, Monthly Income Scheme, Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) and Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme (SSS), were increased by 40 basis points (bps) for the October-December quarter. While the interest rate for post office savings deposits remain at 4%, PO time deposits for 1, 2 and 3 years will give additional returns of 30 basis points.
