(News 18) Two Indian Air Force pilots died on Wednesday as a MiG-17 jet crashed in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The jet crashed in an open field near Garend Kalaan village in Budgam at 10.05 am, the officials said. It broke into two and caught fire immediately, the officials said, adding that two bodies were seen near the site of crash. The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately. (FE) With slower-than-projected growth in tax receipts, the Centre’s fiscal deficit in the first ten months of the current fiscal stood at Rs 7.71 lakh crore or 121.5% of the full-year target (revised estimate), according to data released by the Controller General of Accounts. (PTI) India will achieve 100 per cent household electrification by March 31 as envisaged in the Saubhagya scheme and the next goal is to achieve round the clock power supply to all households, Power Minister R K Singh said Tuesday. Under the Saubhagya scheme, 2,52,51,880 unelectrified households were to be electrified by March 31. Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are in the process of energising the remaining 22,691 families left out.
