    Video of women being paraded naked goes viral, mob sets ablaze accused’s house

    The entire country is angry after a video of two women being paraded naked in Manipur went viral. On Friday, an angry mob in Manipur burnt down the house of prime accused Huirem Herdas Singh. In the viral video, the mob was seen walking two women without clothes, not only that one of these women was also raped. Police said the incident took place on May 4.

    It is being told that an angry mob set fire to the house of the main accused, which included mostly women. The police have so far arrested four accused after a video of them walking naked went viral. In the 26-second video that surfaced on Wednesday, one of the arrested accused can be seen actively giving instructions to the crowd at B. Finom village in Kangpokpi district, police said.

    One of the four arrested accused is Huirem Herdas Singh

    The accused whose house has been set on fire has been named Huirem Herdas Singh. The police have already arrested him. The identities of the other three arrested accused were not immediately known. According to the police, senior officers are analysing the video and matching the people present in it with the arrested accused. In the same incident, villagers set fire to the house of accused Herdas Singh. His family was tortured.

    Chief Minister N. Biren Singh termed the incident as inhuman and said the culprits should be given capital punishment. Strongly condemning the incident, the chief minister termed it a crime against humanity and said his government would not remain silent on the heinous crime.
