Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey reviewed the performance of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) during a meeting held in Ranchi. The meeting was attended by senior officials from CMPDI, CCL, and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), where CMPDI presented its achievements in exploration, R&D, CSR, solar projects, and other operational areas for 2025–26, along with targets for 2026–27.
The Minister praised CMPDI’s performance and emphasized the need for clean coal technologies, critical mineral exploration, transparent procurement processes, and sustainable mine closure practices. He also highlighted the potential of promoting Makhana cultivation and fisheries in reclaimed mining areas under the One District One Product initiative.
During the meeting, CMPDIL and MECL signed an MoU to strengthen cooperation in coal and mineral exploration. The partnership is expected to boost India’s mineral inventory and support the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat through enhanced self-reliance in the mineral sector.
