Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), its attached offices and Oil & Gas CPSEs under the administrative control of MoPNG celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada fortnight with full zeal and enthusiasm from 01stto15th July, 2018. The main theme of MoPNG initiatives in this Pakhwada were “Innovation” and “Sustainability”.

A kick-off meeting to review the Swachhta Pakhwada preparedness of MoPNG, its attached offices and CPSEs under administrative control of MoPNG was held under chairmanship of Secretary (PNG) on 20.06.2018 in which all Oil & Gas CPSEs/attached offices were advised to move beyond symbolism and go to the next level in the implementation of Swachhta Pakhwada.

Under Swachhta Pakhwada, a pledge was administered by Secretary (PNG), Dr M.M. Kutty for creating awareness towards importance of cleanliness at the workplace to the Officers and staff of the Ministry on 02.07.2018.  Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhanled a cleaning drive in Satyanagar, Bharatpur and Khandagiri areas of Bhubaneswar on 13.07.2018. These areas have been adopted by Indian Oil and will be kept clean on regular basis. Towards creating awareness, MoPNG organized anessay writing competition; slogan writing competition on “Meri Swachhta”; paint a poster competition and a workshop on Jute Bag making for the families of officers/staff of the Ministry.

Prime Minister’s vision that Swachhta is everyone’s business has inspired Swachhata Pakhwada which started in April 2016 with the objective of bringing a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and practices of Swachhta by engaging Ministries, Departments & attached Offices under the Ministry.A maiden initiative of Swachhata ranking of Oil & Gas CPSEs/ attached offices was undertaken, wherein, based on their performance in Swachhta Pakhwada, rankings were finalized by aCommittee. ONGC emerged as the winner; IOCL stood second and HPCL came third. Additionally, our attached office PPAC has been adjudged in the highly recommended category.
