Ranveer Singh is enjoying one of the most successful phases of his career following the blockbuster success of the Dhurandhar franchise, but the actor is also facing continued scrutiny over his exit from Don 3.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar and its sequel emerged as two of Bollywood’s biggest commercial successes in 2025 and 2026. Reports suggest that the films generated substantial profits, with Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar each reportedly receiving earnings exceeding ₹325 crore through their stake in the franchise. Jio Studios, which held a 50% share in the project, is believed to be the biggest beneficiary.
Amid growing speculation surrounding Don 3, fresh reports claim that Ranveer has decided not to discuss the controversy publicly. According to industry sources, the actor has chosen to avoid interviews and media interactions for at least 18 months, focusing instead on his upcoming film Pralay, directed by Jay Mehta.
Ranveer was announced as the new lead of Don 3 in 2023, generating significant excitement among fans. However, the project later faced delays, and reports emerged that the actor had stepped away from the film due to concerns regarding the script and production timeline. Following his departure, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar reportedly approached the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), alleging losses incurred during the film’s pre-production phase.
FWICE later issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh after attempts to resolve the matter reportedly failed. The federation claimed substantial expenses had already been made for location scouting, travel arrangements and production planning before the actor exited the project.
In response to the controversy, Ranveer’s team released a statement emphasizing that the actor respects the film fraternity and prefers to handle professional disagreements privately. The statement noted that he had intentionally refrained from commenting on public speculation and remains focused on his future commitments.
As he prepares for Pralay, Ranveer appears determined to let his work speak for itself while maintaining silence on the ongoing Don 3 dispute.
