A 30-feet tall National Police Memorial alongwith a World-class interactive digital immersive museum having an area of 17,000 sq.ft. built by NBCC (India) Ltd., a Navratna CPSE, was inaugurated by Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. The Memorial was proposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as a consecrated place for paying tribute to the soldiers from all Paramilitary forces and State Police who attained martyrdom in the line of duty.

The trapezoidal site for the memorial lies on the visual axis between Rashtrapati Bhavan and Shantipath, and is spread over an area of 6.5 acres. The main central structure on wreath podium is a cenotaph and stands testimony to the valour and supreme sacrifice of the police martyrs across the country.

This vertical 30 feet tall granite pillar is surrounded by small sculptures – ‘Jeeva Jyot’, where the soft light emanating from the lamps will be reminiscent of the supreme sacrifice made by the brave sons for the security of our nation; engraved signature of Prime Minster; and a water body symbolizing the fact that these brave men will live in our memories forever.

The Memorial has a ‘Wall of Valour’ that can engrave names of 50,000 martyrs and thus pay tribute to the fearless, selfless and hitherto unsung men in uniform. The memorial has a State-of-the-Art interactive and holographic museum to provide immersive experience to the visitors and highlight the history of State Police forces and Paramilitary forces.  The site also has a parade ground for police forces commemoration day and other functions.

NBCC-built National Police Memorial will not only keep the memory of police martyrs alive but also inspire and encourage the serving policemen and future generation to serve the nation with pride, utmost dedication and unity of purpose.
