‘Modi 3.0 A Milestone For National Security’

The 11 years of Modi government has been a “golden period” of resolve, endeavour and dedication towards public service, Union home minister Amit Shah said on Monday, emphasising that the period has also proved to be a milestone in the direction of national security.

Using the hashtag “11 years of seva (service)” in a series of social media posts to mark the 11 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government in power at the Centre, Shah asserted this journey of making India “number 1” in every field by bringing positive changes in the lives of the countrymen will continue.

“#11YearsOfSeva has also proved to be a milestone in the direction of national security. Naxalism is on its last legs, peace has been established in Jammu-Kashmir and the Northeast, India now responds to terrorist attacks by entering the homes of terrorists. This shows the changing picture of India under the Modi government,” Shah said in a post in Hindi on X.

His remarks come close on the heels of India’s military strikes on terror infrastructure inside Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor last month, in retaliation to April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.

“In Modi 3.0, the new India is rapidly progressing towards development and self-reliance with the power of reform, perform and transform. This journey of making India number 1 in every field by bringing positive changes in the lives of the countrymen will continue like this,” Shah added.

Emphasising the progress during the last 11 years of the BJP-led NDA rule, the home minister said the country has seen a new era of economic revival, social justice, cultural pride and national security.

“The historic 11 years of the Modi Government have been a golden period of resolve, endeavour and dedication towards public service,” he said in another post.

The BJP-led government under PM Modi completed 11 years since it came to power at the Centre in 2014. Monday also marked the Modi-led NDA government’s first anniversary in its third term. The Union government has released a comprehensive e-book detailing achievements across various sectors over the past 11 years.

According to the ministry of home affairs (MHA) data on terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, between 2004 and 2014, the region saw 7,217 terrorist incidents. The number dropped to 2,242 between 2014 and 2024. The total number of deaths in terror incidents also come down by 68%, from 2,829 (2004-14) to 920 (2014-24), the MHA data states.

Similarly, as a result of intensive operations by the security forces, incidents of Left-wing extremism (LWE) violence have also reduced manifold, the MHA data states.

While the country witnessed a total of 16,463 Maoist attacks between 2004 and 2014, it came down 53% to 7,744 over the next decade. In these incidents, the number of deaths of security forces have come down from 1,851 (2004-14) to 509 (2014-24) while civilian deaths have come down by 70% as well, from 4,766 to 1,495 in the period.

The government announced in April that only six districts across the country are now most affected by the LWE violence, down from 25 in 2021. Shah has set a deadline of March 31, 2026 to completely wipe out LWE from the country.

In the Northeast, the number of violent incidents has also come down by 70%, from 11,327 (2004-14) to 3,493 (2014-24), in which civilian deaths have come down from 2,651 to 397 while deaths of security personnel have come down from 456 to 135, according to the MHA data.
