The construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya crossed a significant milestone with the installation of ‘kalash’ atop the temple on Monday.
The ‘kalash’ installation (‘kalash puja’) was performed from 9.15am to 10.30am atop the main ‘shikhar’ (spire) of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple with full Vedic rituals in the presence of Brahmins.
General secretary of the Ram temple trust, Champat Rai, said that the significant milestone in the temple construction was achieved on the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi and the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar.
“As the next step, we will start work for the installation of ‘dhwajadand’ (flagpole) on the temple’s main ‘shikhar’. The overall construction work is progressing steadily,” Rai said.
