Jayant Chaudhary recently visited Uganda to represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who assumed office for his seventh term. During the visit, Shri Chaudhary conveyed greetings and a message of goodwill from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India. He highlighted the importance of political stability and continuity in supporting national development and praised Uganda’s steady progress over the years.

Reaffirming India’s strong partnership with Uganda and Africa, Shri Chaudhary emphasized India’s commitment to expanding cooperation in education, skill development, and institutional capacity building. He noted that the relationship between the two countries continues to grow through mutual trust and shared development goals.

As part of his visit, Shri Chaudhary toured the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU-I) Uganda Campus in Jinja, India’s first overseas public academic campus. The institution welcomed its first batch of students in October 2025 and is expected to become a major centre for forensic science education, research, and training in Africa.

Shri Chaudhary praised the initiative and said the campus reflects the spirit of collaboration and friendship between India and African nations. He expressed confidence that the university would contribute significantly to skill development and academic excellence in the region.

During his stay in Kampala, Shri Chaudhary also interacted with members of the Indian diaspora, highlighting the strong people-to-people ties between India and Uganda. The visit further reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Uganda across multiple sectors.
