Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, inaugurated a new daycare facility for the children of employees at Kaushal Bhawan, the headquarters of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The initiative marks an important step towards creating a more inclusive, employee-friendly, and supportive work environment within the government.
Spread across nearly 600 square metres, the facility has been designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating space for young children. It includes dedicated sleeping and resting areas, interactive play zones, age-appropriate learning resources, child-friendly furniture, hygienic washrooms, and specially designed feeding and baby-changing rooms. The daycare centre caters to children between six months and six years of age and is staffed by trained caregivers and support personnel to ensure high-quality care and supervision.
The newly established facility aims to ease the challenges faced by working parents by bringing reliable childcare closer to the workplace. By enabling employees to balance their professional responsibilities with family commitments, the initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to promoting workplace well-being and enhancing employee support systems.
Speaking on the occasion, officials highlighted that the daycare facility represents more than just infrastructure. It reflects a workplace culture that values family, supports child development, and recognizes the importance of creating a caring and inclusive environment for employees.
Several senior officials attended the inauguration, including Debashree Mukherjee, along with representatives from the Directorate General of Training (DGT), the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
As India advances towards becoming a future-ready and inclusive economy, initiatives such as this underscore the government’s focus on building progressive, people-centric institutions that address the evolving needs of the modern workforce.
