India Joins World Economic Forum’s ‘Skills Accelerator Initiative’

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF), convened a high-level roundtable on April 8, 2025, at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi, to discuss the “India Skills Accelerator” initiative.

This initiative aims to bridge critical skill gaps by promoting inclusive upskilling and reskilling, encouraging investment in lifelong learning, and strengthening collaboration between government and industry. By supporting agile career transitions, scaling training programs, and aligning education with industry demands—particularly in high-growth areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and clean energy—the initiative seeks to equip India’s youth with future-ready skills. Notably, the initiative features strong private sector involvement, with two out of four co-chairs representing industry leadership.
