Pitching India before global investors as a lucrative business destination at the Vibrant Gujarat summit in Gandhinagar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that India is “an engine of growth in the global economy, a technological hub for finding solutions, a power house of talented youth and a democracy that delivers”.

Highlighting his government’s achievements during the past decade, Mr Modi said, “The world looks at India as an important pillar of stability,” adding that India’s “efforts and hard work make the world more secure and prosperous” and it is a “friend who can be trusted”.

At the inauguration of the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat summit, the Prime Minister said it was his “guarantee” that India will become the third-largest economy in the world in the next few years, adding that his resolve is as big as the dreams of the people and investors.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister described the proposed India-Middle East-Europe corridor that was unveiled during the G-20 summit last year as a big business opportunity for investors. He also highlighted India’s growing partnership in the I2U2 (India, Israel, UAE and US) grouping.

Terming “one world, one family, one future” a global necessity, Mr Modi said, “India is a friend in a rapidly changing world. We have assured the world that we can set a collective goal and achieve it… The world looks at India as an important pillar of stability. India is a friend who can be trusted.”
