    IMD predicts heavy rains in Simila, yellow and orange alert issued for Maharashtra

    Heavy rains lashed parts of Mumbai on Monday morning, , but public transport remained unaffected in the city, officials said. According to a civic official, the Mumbai office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘yellow’ alert for the city on Monday, predicting heavy rains in different areas ” . On the other hand, IMD expects light to moderate rainfall in Himachal Pradesh today.

    An ‘orange’ alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Pune districts till July 21, . , A ‘ ‘, , , , , , , alert has been issued in Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Satara, Aurangabad, Jalna, Akola, Amravati. Buldhana, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal, Regional Meteorological Centre Mumbai said for tomorrow.

    , “Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is expected at a few places in Una, Kangra, , Hamirpur, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur and Mandi districts today and heavy rains are expected in Kullu district,” the IMD said. ”

    Mahalaxmi, Bycullative, Malabar Hill, Matunga, Sion, Bandra, Santacruz, Andheri and other places received heavy rains early in the morning though the intensity of rain subsided around 8 am. According to local officials, no severe flooding was recorded anywhere. in Mumbai city, PTI reported.

    According to officials, local trains are running regularly on the Central Railway and Western Railway routes. According to a civic official, there was no route diversion of bus services of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking due to the rains.

    According to the IMD, active monsoon conditions are expected to dominate central and adjoining eastern India over the next five days, with heavy rains expected over Jharkhand and Odisha in the next 24 hours; , over East Madhya Pradesh during 16-18 July; On July 16 and 18 in western Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra; and on July 16-17 in Chhattisgarh.

    According to the IMD, similar rainfall activity is expected in the ghat areas of Goa and Madhya Maharashtra from July 18-20 and in Gujarat from July 19-20.
