    HPCL Employees Participate In Mumbai Marathon In Support Of ADAPT

    In an effort to raise awareness and support for ADAPT, HPCL employees participated as buddies for Special children at the 17th edition of Mumbai Marathon. Around 35 employees led by Director HR, Sh. Pushp Kumar Joshi and Director Marketing, Sh. Rakesh Misri participated in the event under the category ‘Champions with Disability’ by helping the Special Children from ADAPT finish the race. In addition to the above around 200 employees participated in various race categories viz. 42 kms, 21 Kms, 10 Kms and 5 Kms to support the cause of ADAPT.

    HPCL has been associated with ADAPT under its CSR initiative to provide support for treatment, education and therapies for special children and young adults with an aim to promote inclusive development. ADAPT, formerly The Spastics Society of India, has grown to become one of the foremost non – profit organizations in the country, providing services for more than 3000 children and 10,000 families. Their services include assessment, infant stimulation, therapy, counseling, inclusive education, skills training and job placement, continuum of support services and home management programs for children and young adults with disability.

    Every year special children from ADAPT participate in the Mumbai Marathon and is ably supported by HPCL employees in finishing the race. The Mumbai Marathon, is an annual international marathon held in Mumbai, India, on the third Sunday of January every year. It is the largest marathon in Asia as well as the largest mass participation sporting event on the continent. This year close to 55,000 people across the world participated in this year’s edition of the Marathon.
