    Govt Aims to Make India Self-Sufficient in Energy Sector: Pradhan

    Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan has said that India needs clean and cheap energy for creating employment through Industrial development. He was speaking at the inaugural function of two days Bio energy Urja Utsav organised by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas in Pune today.

    Mr Pradhan said that we have achieved remarkable success in non-conventional energy sector. He expressed confidence that a day will come soon when India will lead the World in this sector. While speaking on this occasion, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said that government’s aim is to make the country self-sufficient in energy sector.

    This Urja Utsav being held at Shiv Chatrapati Sports Complex at Balewadi is aimed at bringing into focus the various initiatives in the country in the Bio Energy Sector and towards developing an inclusive National policy frame work and sustainable mainstreaming of such technologies. This Utsav will also help to create awareness amongst the Students, Farmers, and Citizens about Bio-energy. More than two thousand Professionals, Academics, Scientists, Industry representatives, Policy makers from across the country are participating in this Utsav. Besides technical sessions for different stake holders, an exhibition of various research initiatives in the country is also organised, technologies, and success stories in the bio energy sector are also being show cased.
