The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to launch a nationwide outreach programme in September on the recent decision of the Centre to abrogate Article 370 and Article 35A. The awareness programme will also be carried out in the newly formed Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including Srinagar, Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Sopore, Anantnag, and Ladakh, said BJP members.
These programmes would also be carried out in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand where assembly elections will be held later this year. Senior leaders of the party have identified 35 cities, mainly state capitals, where public meetings and awareness programmes will be held from 1 September and 370 smaller cities, where Union ministers, chief ministers of different states, deputy chief ministers, and senior leaders of the party would hold awareness programmes. This is the first time that the BJP leadership is holding outreach programmes to reach out to people on the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.
