The integrated portal www.consumerhelpline.gov.in registers all kinds for consumer complaints including complaints related to Electricity, Water etc. Complaints can be registered through telephonic calls received at the National Consumer Helpline Toll free No. 1XXX-XX-4000 or short code 14404, SMS on 91-8130009809, and Consumer App, in addition to directly registering on the portal itself. The complaints related to Government Departments are moved to Nodal Officers of the Concerned Department/Ministry.This information was given by Shri C.R. The Department of Food & Public Distribution is implementing a Plan scheme on “End-to-end Computerization of Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) Operations” which includes digitization of ration card/ beneficiary and other databases. The digitization of ration cards is already completed in all States/UTs. The Online Allocation has been implemented in 29 States/UTs and two UTs Chandigarh and Puducherry have fully adopted DBT Cash for foodgrains. The online allocation is not implemented in the remaining five States/UTs namely Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Lakshadweep. (Live Mint) The government on Monday announced its decision to merge Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB) with State Bank of India (SBI) to ensure greater banking services outreach to more women at a faster pace. “The decision to merge BMB with SBI has been taken in view of the advantage of the large network of SBI among other things,” the finance ministry said.
