Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an industry event, OVL Managing Director Narendra K Verma said OVL had in 2016-17 produced 12.57 MT crude oil and equivalent natural gas from its assets abroad. (PTI) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked its affiliated schools to set up Aadhaar enrolment centres and encourage students who do not have the identification number to be enrolled. The Board has partnered with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) as registrar to collect demographic and biometric data of residents directly or through enrolment agencies. However, the CBSE has not mandated the schools to set up the centres and asked the schools volunteering to do so to sign an MoU with either the Board or UIDAI. (FE) The government is considering a proposal to ease foreign direct investment (FDI) guidelines in the retailing of food products to allow a certain percentage of locally-produced non-food items along with the edible products. Food processing minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal told FE her ministry has suggested that a foreign retailer be allowed to sell locally-produced non-food items worth 25% of its investments at the farm-gate level.
