(The Hans) The Visakh Refinery of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, distributed scholarships worth Rs 3 crore to 5,231 students of SC/ST/OBC/ PWD (Persons with Disabilities) categories belonging to 16 government colleges in the district. (NDTV) Scaling up the operation against black money and corruption, benami, or proxy-owned property worth Rs. 600 crores has been seized by the Income Tax department over the last six months under a refurbished law that lets the government takeover properties bought in fake names. In all, the tax authorities have detected over 400 benami transactions in 240 cases. The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval to Raising of Bonds of Rs. 2360 crores for Renewable Energy. The Bonds will be raised by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) through the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) during the 2017-18.
