(PTI) The Reserve Bank today left lending rates unchanged citing risks to inflation due to spurt in farm loan waivers by states but raised lending capacity of banks to support economic growth. (PTI) Oil India Ltd (OIL), the nation’s second largest state explorer, on Tuesday said it has made an oil discovery in the Baghjan area of upper Assam basin. “The well South Baghjan-2 encountered multiple sands in Narpuh and Lakadong+Therria formations. On testing, a 15 meter thick sand at a depth of 4,154 meters produced oil at the rate of 100 cubic meters per day,” the company said in a statement. (ET) The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) will shortly seek cabinet approval for Oil and Natural Gas Corp to buy the government’s entire stake in refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd in line with the oil ministry’s proposal of creating a domestic oil giant, people with direct knowledge of the matter told ET.
