(FE) Bankers have received from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) the first list of six stressed accounts that they must resolve via the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), senior executives familiar with the development said. The bankers added that the central bank had asked them to refer the cases to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) within a fortnight. (PTI) The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday announced dissolving the Shia and Sunni waqf boards in the state in the wake of corruption charges against them. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has assented to the dissolution of the boards, minister of state for Waqf Mohsin Raza told PTI here. The dissolution process has been started after taking into account all legal aspects, the minister said. There have been serious allegations of corruption against the Shia and Sunni waqf boards related to their properties. (FE) Putting in place a stronger mechanism to check non-compliance of disclosure regulations, Sebi today announced imposition of penalty of up to Rs 1 crore on companies and initiating enforcement action, including prosecution. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said that recognised stock exchanges would use imposition of fines in case of non-compliance with certain provisions of Issue of Capital and Disclosure (ICDR) Regulations. (PTI) An explosion today struck a kindergarten in eastern China while children were leaving the school at the end of the day, killing at least seven people and injuring 59 others, the state media reported. The blast happened at around 4:50 p.m. at the front gate of the kindergarten in Fengxian County in east China’s Jiangsu Province when children were leaving the school, officials were quoted as saying by the state-run Xinhua news agency.
