(FE) The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has given Indian Railways an ambitious target to increase the transporter’s non-fare revenue (NFR) to 15% of the total receipts in the financial year 2017-18. To meet the target, the railways will have to earn Rs 28,350 crore as NFR in the current fiscal, almost three times the level achieved in the last financial year. (PTI) The government is promoting coal gasification to convert high ash coal into methanol that can be used as cooking gas, with an aim to cut down dependence on West Asian countries for LPG imports, Niti Aayog member V K Saraswat said. Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (“HPCL”) announced that it has successfully raised 10-year fixed rate unsecured USD bond (Notes) amounting to USD 500 million from investors in Asia, Europe and Middle East. Proceeds of the bond will be used to fund capital expenditure for ongoing and future domestic projects. This is HPCL’s inaugural foray into the international bond market. (DNA) Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan will be visiting Istanbul in Turkey from July 10 – 12 to represent India at the 22nd World Petroleum Congress (WPC) International Conference.
