(PTI) The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on Tuesday mandated service providers to enter into an interconnection agreement “on non-discriminatory basis” within 30 days of receiving network connectivity request from another operator. Trai issued the ‘Telecom Interconnection Regulations 2018’ that comprises rules for crafting network connectivity agreements, provisioning of such connectivity among operators at initial stages, augmentation of Points of Interconnect, applicable rates or charges, disconnection of ports, and financial disincentive on interconnection issues. (TOI) State-owned gas utility GAIL has commissioned the country’s second-largest rooftop solar power plant with a capacity of 5.76 MWp (mega watt peak) at its Pata petrochemicals complex in UP. GAIL chairman B C Tripathi said the solar plant will reduce the company’s carbon footprint and reduce carbon emissions by 6,300 tonne per annum. The plant is expected to save the company Rs 5.5 crore annually in energy bill and pay back the project’s cost in about four years. One order has been received from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), Visakhapatnam Refinery, and the other one is an extension to an ongoing contract for Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Jamnagar, Gujarat. Over 270 flights were delayed, nearly 50 diverted and an estimated 35 cancelled. No flight could take off from the airport here for nearly four hours between 7.30am and 11.05am on Sunday, according to an airport official.
