(PTI) The Uttar Pradesh government has banned the use of polythene bags and items of common use made of plastic from July 15, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said today. “We have decided to ban plastic in the entire state from July 15,” he said on Twitter. “I appeal that after July 15 plastic cups, glasses and polythene should not be used at any level. (FE) Easing the way for the Purvanchal Expressway, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved a proposal to get bank loan of Rs 12,000 crore from Punjab National Bank (PNB) for construction of the project. Additional chief secretary, information, Awanish Awasthi said in the first phase, Rs 7,800 crore would be given by the bank at the rate of 8.30% interest for 15 years. “The loan would be repaid in 48 installments with three years moratorium and installments would be paid through funds collected from toll on the expressway,” he said, adding that the state government has also approved to give…
(ET) Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd has bought its first cargo of Iraqi Basra Heavy crude from Royal Dutch Shell via a tender, two sources with knowledge of the matter said. MRPL is likely to blend the 1 million barrels Basra Heavy crude, which will be delivered in September, with lighter grades so it can be processed at its refinery, one of the sources said. Spokespeople for MRPL and Shell declined to comment on the deal.
