(PTI) The Government is actively considering using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as a transportation fuel, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said. LNG is being imported under open general license on terms and conditions mutually agreed upon between buyers and sellers and it is being traded in the country on market-based mechanism. (CNBC) he National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is gearing up to execute highway projects worth Rs 2.25 lakh crore and of 15,000 km in length. The NHAI will double down on these projects because the requisite clearances are in place allowing, the report said citing an unnamed senior official. Ahead of the next year general elections, the authorities will primarily focus on executing the existing projects, said the report. However, it added that the NHAI will not shy away from tendering new contracts. Last financial year, the NHAI had awarded 150 projects of 7,400 km, worth Rs 1.2 lakh crore.
