He was suffering from cancer and had come back from the US in October after treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York. Kumar, 59, is survived by his wife and two daughters. (MC) The Supreme Court of India (SC) on October 30 gave state governments the flexibility to choose a time slot for bursting firecrackers. However, it maintained its earlier order allowing it for only two hours on festival days.
