(FE) Cash-strapped Air India could soon get equity infusion worth Rs 2,345 crore as part of the turnaround plan to meet its working capital requirements. The government on Thursday sought Parliament’s nod to grant Rs 2,345 crore to the ailing carrier and `1,300 crore for Air India Asset Holding Company, the special purpose vehicles (SPV) housing airline’s debt. The proposal was part of second batch of supplementary demands for grants 2018-19 tabled by finance minister Arun Jaitley . Air India has been facing delay in disbursing salaries and few of its planes are grounded due to lack of spares.

Tn a regulatory filing, ONGC board approved buyback of 1.97 per cent of equity shares for Rs 159 apiece.In a regulatory filing, ONGC said its board had approved “buyback of equity shares of the company not exceeding 25.29 crore being 1.97% of the total paid-up equity shares of the company at the price of ₹159 per equity share payable i0n cash for an aggregate consideration not exceeding ₹4,022 crore.”

(ET) Swedish furniture retailer Ikea signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government to invest Rs 5,000 crore in setting up an ‘integrated commercial project’ and opening stores in the state. The investment is expected to help create 8,000 direct and indirect jobs over the years.
