(LiveMint) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday promised to ensure that 99% of items attract goods and services tax (GST) at 18% or lower, leaving sin or luxury items only to be taxed at the highest rate of 28%. Speaking at the Republic Summit in Mumbai, Modi said he had given his suggestions to the federal indirect tax body, the GST Council, which is set to meet in New Delhi on Saturday. Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is authority to grant authorization to the entities for the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) network in Geographical Areas (GAs) as per PNGRB Act, 2006. PNGRB identifies GAs for authorizing the development of CGD network in synchronization with the development of natural gas pipeline connectivity/ natural gas availability. The authorized CGD entities develop the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) network to supply natural gas to households, industrial and commercial units in their respective GAs.
