(BS) The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has sought Rs 25,000 crore more from the Centre for the next financial year (2020-21), mainly to fund its ambitious highway projects. It is learnt that the authority has sought Rs 25,000 crore more than what it received in 2019-20. The NHAI has the approval to raise Rs 75,000 crore in borrowings during the current year, while the government support is Rs 36,691 crore. This comes in the backdrop of India’s fuel demand dropping in September amid the domestic economy battling a severe demand slowdown, which has also reduced commercial vehicle traffic on India’s highways. (FE) Putting in place a stricter framework, Sebi on Thursday directed all listed banks to disclose any divergence in bad loan provisioning within 24 hours of receiving RBI’s risk assessment report, rather than waiting to publish the details in their annual financial statements. In recent months, there have been several instances of under-reporting of bad loans by lenders, prompting regulatory action by the RBI.
