(ET) i: Niti Aayog, the government’s think-tank, is firming up a plan to help state governments and local bodies all over the country to buy buses worth Rs 11,000 crore in a bid to improve public transport and revive demand for commercial vehicles. “Niti Aayog has prepared a plan for introduction of about 25,000 buses for urban users. These buses would be run on diesel,” a government official told ET. (TH) The NHAI has terminated the concession agreements of two Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) of highways infrastructure developer IRB Infrastructure.In a filing to the exchanges on November 2, IRB Infra, which recently got ₹4,400-crore investment from Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC, said the authority has terminated concession agreements to its two SPVs — IRB PP Project Pvt Ltd and IRB PS Highway Pvt Ltd.The SPVs had bagged Hybrid Annuity Model projects for 4-laning of Puducherry-Poondiyankuppam and Poondiyankuppam-Sattanathapuram highways.

(LiveMint) The government may consider two-phased disinvestment for public sector oil refiner and retailer Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), if the initial strategic sale of the entire 53.29% government stake in the company fails to get requisite response. According to official sources, there is fear that no company, including global majors, may commit to invest close to ₹1 lakh crore required to complete the transanction at one go. Thus, the government may sell half or around 26-27% of its share first and consider complete exit from BPCL at a later stage when the valuation improves after the fund infusion by the strategic investor.…

(The Pioneer) The Ministry of Housing and Affairs (MoHUA) has sanctioned more than 93 Lakh houses against the demand of 1.12 crore houses under Prime Minister Awas Yojna (Urban). As per data furnished by the Ministry, as many as 55 Lakh houses are grounded for construction of which construction of more than 28 lakh houses is complete. However, lack of adequate demand and a plethora of issues with respect to raising production levels had forced the company to push back the deadline to 2025-26.
