(PTI) Power distribution companies in the country suffered losses worth Rs 27,000 crore in 2018-19, Union Power Minister R K Singh has said. The Centre aims to reduce electricity transmission and distribution losses in the country to 15 per cent in next two years, Singh said here on Saturday. (PTI) The country’s coal imports registered an increase of 4.4 per cent to 161.43 million tonnes (MT) in the April-November period of the ongoing fiscal. This comes amid the Centre exuding hope that imports of the fossil fuel would be contained to 235 MT this financial year. (PTI) Oil and gas regulator PNGRB has hired global consultancy ICF to carry out an assessment of India’s natural gas demand and the infrastructure needed to unleash the country’s massive pent-up requirement, its Chairman Dinesh K Sarraf said.
