(ET) Government plans to soon allot land for 2,000 fueling stations on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway highway, with priority given to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) stations, Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways said at an event here. “LNG is the fuel for the future and the cost economics compared with diesel works to a saving of at least 50-60 per cent,” Gadkari said while speaking at the Conference on Future Fuels for Transportation organised by FICCI. (ET) : Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) has almost exhausted its entire planned capital expenditure for this financial year in the first nine months, much faster than the average 67 per cent for all staterun oil companies during April-December 2019. HPCL has a target to spend Rs 9,500 crore in 2019-20 on a range of projects from upgrading its existing refineries in Mumbai and Vizag to setting up a new refinery-cumpetrochemical complex in Rajasthan, adding fuel pipelines and marketing infrastructure. The company has been quick on project execution, spending Rs 9,239 crore by the end of December, about 97 per cent of the annual target.

(PTI) The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on HDFC Bank for non-compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, the central bank said on Wednesday. The RBI in a release said that supervisory evaluation of the bank (2016-17) revealed that the HDFC Bank had “failed to exercise ongoing due diligence” with regards to 39 current accounts opened by its customers for bidding in Initial Public Offer. “It was observed that the transactions effected in these current accounts were disproportionate to the declared income and profile of the customers,” it said.
