(PTI) State-run power giant NTPC has made an offer to buy back its masala bonds worth Rs 4,000 crore from bondholders or lenders. Masala bonds are issued outside India but denominated in Indian rupees, rather than the local currency.  NTPC has launched a cash tender offer to buy the masala bonds worth totaling Rs 4,000 crore. Delhi’s early winter is getting reflected in the city’s power demand. (ET) The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) plans to commission the 2,000 megawatt (MW) Lower Subansiri hydroelectric project along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border by March, 2022. Work on the dam had come to a halt in 2011 following massive protests from several organizations. (PTI) Petrol price on Sunday was hiked by 28 paise per litre and diesel by 29 paise, the fifth straight day of increase in rates due to firming international oil prices. Petrol price in Delhi rose to Rs 83.41 per litre from Rs 83.13. Diesel rates went up from Rs 73.32 to Rs 73.61 per litre, according to a price notification of oil marketing companies. (ET) Wind power generation across the state surged substantially with stronger winds blowing over past few days. The average wind power production jumped to 1,808 MW on Sunday, which was almost six times the 315 MW generation registered on Monday last week. The electricity generated from the wind energy sources was even higher at 2,753 MW, 3,365 MW and 3,440 MW on Saturday, Friday and Thursday respectively, shows daily data compiled by the Western Region Load Dispatch Centre (WRLDC), which is a central government entity.
