(TT) A major fire broke out on the premises of a naphtha cracker unit at the Haldia Petrochemicals (HPL) refinery in East Midnapore on Tuesday afternoon while contractual labourers were carrying out maintenance work. Preliminary suspicion was that the fire started from oil accumulated in drain pipes at the plant. There were no casualties in the blaze which was controlled only after fire tenders from adjoining refineries arrived. (PTI) More than 2.75 crore balance and unutilised COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states, UTs and private hospitals to be administered, the Union Health Ministry said .Over 49.85 crore vaccine doses have been provided to states and UTs so far through all sources and a further 20,94,890 doses are in the pipeline. Of this, the total consumption including wastage is 47,52,49,554 doses, the ministry said. The new phase of universalisation of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from June 21.

(PTI) Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the nation’s biggest oil firm, may sell some of its over 32,300 petrol pumps to a joint venture with Malaysia’s Petronas with a view to monetising the firm’s vast fuel marketing network, its Director (Finance) S K Gupta said. IOC has an over two-decade-old 50:50 joint venture with Petronas for the import of LPG.
