(ET) The railways has cancelled 42 passenger trains so far to facilitate coal freight movement in the wake of a power crisis in various parts of the country, causing inconvenience to people travelling to and from coal producing states such as Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. (ET) Citing a steep hike of 110 per cent in the cost of natural gas supplies, city gas distributor MGL on Friday increased the retail price of automobile fuel CNG by Rs 4 per kg but left the rate of cooking gas unchanged. This is the third hike in the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) since April 6. MGL said CNG will now cost Rs 76 a kg in and around Mumbai effective from this midnight. (ET) India’s core sector growth slowed to 4.3% in March after it grew 6.0% in February 2022, data released by the commerce and industry ministry showed on Friday. The cumulative growth rate of Index of Eight Core Industries (ICI) stood at 10.4% during April-March 2021-22 compared to the same year in the previous fiscal. According to the official press release, the transaction is expected to close later in 2022. “Shell through its subsidiary, Shell Overseas Investment, signed an agreement with Actis Solenergi to acquire 100 per cent of Solenergi Power for $1.55 billion and with it, the Sprng Energy group of companies,” it added. (Moneycontrol) With an aim to simplify the procedure for transmission of securities, Sebi has revised the existing threshold limit for simplified documents to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 2 lakh currently for securities held in physical mode per listed issuer. Also, the threshold in this regard for securities held in the dematerialised mode for each beneficiary account has been increased to Rs 15 lakh from the present level of Rs 5 lakh.
