(HT) The world’s first made-in-India intranasal Covid-19 vaccine iNCOVACC, manufactured by Bharat Biotech, was launched on Thursday as the country marked its 74th Republic Day. Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched the vaccine and emphasised India’s vaccine manufacturing and innovation capability, which he said is appreciated all over the world. “As the world’s first intranasal Covid-19 vaccine, this is a glorious tribute to the call for Atma Nirbhar Bharat (self-sufficiency in India),” Mandaviya said at the launch. Bharat Biotech said it is intended for low-and middle-income countries.

(PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on August 16, 2022 reviewed ongoing bilateral initiatives, including defence collaboration projects and cooperation in civil nuclear energy. During their telephonic conversation, they also discussed important geopolitical challenges, including those related to global food security, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said. India and France have been expressing concern at the risk to global food security and nutrition in light of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. “We discussed ongoing bilateral cooperation under the India-France Strategic Partnership, and other issues of global and regional significance,” he said.

(MC) Indian Oil Corp will restart crude processing at its 300,000 barrel per day Paradip refinery in eastern Odisha state from mid-September after a 45-day maintenance turnaround, two industry sources said on Tuesday. The refinery has one crude unit. While the crude unit was shut from Aug. 1, the naphtha hydrotreater, continuous catalytic reformer, diesel hydrotreater, coker and alkylation units were shut sequentially.
