Union Minister of State for Law & Justice and Corporate Affairs Shri P.P. Chaudhary said in Rajya Sabha today that the Ministry has established Centralised Scrutiny and Prosecution Mechanism (CSPM) in April, 2018 for the financial year 2015-16 onwards on pilot basis for enforcement of CSR provisions. CSPM has been tasked to start with examination of records of top 1,000 companies mandated to spend on CSR. Based on inquiry, preliminary notices have been issued to 272 companies.

The company’s consolidated net loss stood at Rs 452.84 crore in the quarter ended June of the previous fiscal, a BSE filing said. According to the statement, the company’s total income in the quarter under review declined to Rs 3,959.40 crore from Rs 5,601.25 crore a year ago. (PTI) The government wants to strengthen the Information and Broadcasting ministry’s new media wing to facilitate flow of information on its policies and programmes through social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, the Rajya Sabha was informed. In a written reply to a question, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said social media platforms are intermediaries under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and are accordingly regulated under the act and the rules framed under it. His response came to a question on whether the government had constituted committees over the last four years to suggest a framework to keep a watch on social media.
