Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won three major orders in quick succession, for setting up Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Power Plants totaling to 135 MW, on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, in Maharashtra and Gujarat.Cumulatively valued at Rs.520 Crore, the orders have been secured from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd., (MAHAGENCO), Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL) and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd., (GNFC). (FE) With a heavy mandate to push reforms, the BJP-led government may soon kick-start the next phase of consolidation in the public-sector banking space with an amalgamation of three lenders — Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), Indian Bank and Corporation Bank. (PTI) Solar installations in India during January-March period of this year stood at 1,737 megawatt (MW), registering a year-on-year decline of 49 per cent, mainly owing to difficulty faced by installers in getting the required approvals due to general elections, says a report.
