(PTI) The government has notified a Steel Scrap Recycling Policy (SSRP) to provide for a framework to facilitate and promote establishment of metal scrapping centers in India for scientific processing and recycling. The campaign was aimed at discouraging autorickshaw drivers and owners who mixed kerosene with petrol to fuel their vehicles, causing heavy air pollution, said a senior government official. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned two more pumping units each for Package-6 (7×116 MW) and Package-8 (7×139 MW) of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS). Notably, with this, BHEL has successfully commissioned all 14 pumping units of these packages within a record period of six months and well within the scheduled time. (PTI) Gold prices on Thursday witnessed a marginal rise of Rs 15 to Rs 38,995 per 10 gram in the national capital as rupee appreciation limited the upside, according to HDFC Securities. In the previous trade, the precious metal had closed at Rs 38,980 per 10 gram. “Spot gold prices for 24 Karat in Delhi were trading up by Rs 15 and the upside was limited on rupee appreciation.
