(ET) The state government approved the extension of existing subsidy on electricity bills for consumers. “The government has extended zero power bill scheme for consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity every month, irrespective of their approved load, from April 2020 to March 2021. Apart from this, a subsidy of Rs 800 is given for consumers using 201 to 400 units of monthly electricity,” an official said, adding that 90 per cent of households in Delhi are getting the benefit of subsidy on electricity. (PTI) The supply of fuel by state-owned CIL to the power sector registered an increase of 6.2 per cent to 42.58 million tonnes in February. The development assumes significance as Coal India Ltd (CIL), which accounts for over 80 per cent of domestic coal output, has ample availability of dry stock. In February 2019, CIL supplied 40.10 million tonnes (MT) to the power sector, according to the recent government data.
