(PTI) The Assam forest department has slapped a penalty of Rs 43.25 crore on PSU major Coal India Ltd for carrying out “illegal mining” inside a reserve forest for 16 years from 2003, officials said on Wednesday. (ET) The state government approved the extension of existing subsidy on electricity bills for consumers. “The government has extended zero power bill scheme for consumers consuming up to 200 units of electricity every month, irrespective of their approved load, from April 2020 to March 2021. Apart from this, a subsidy of Rs 800 is given for consumers using 201 to 400 units of monthly electricity,” an official said, adding that 90 per cent of households in Delhi are getting the benefit of subsidy on electricity. (PTI) The supply of fuel by state-owned CIL to the power sector registered an increase of 6.2 per cent to 42.58 million tonnes in February. The development assumes significance as Coal India Ltd (CIL), which accounts for over 80 per cent of domestic coal output, has ample availability of dry stock. (PTI) NLC India Ltd said it has raised Rs 1,000 crore from by issuing commercial papers to meet the standalone business operation requirements.”NLC India Ltd has issued and allotted 20,000 nos of commercial paper of a face value of Rs 5,00,000 each aggregating to Rs 1,000 crore in favour of State Bank of India on 20.04.2020,” the PSU said in a BSE filing. The fund, the filing said, will be utilised to meet the standalone business operation requirements of the company.
