Uncontrolled gas with well fluids, mainly water, is gushing out from OIL’s (Oil India Limited) well no. NHK 67, following the stealing of a Christmas tree by miscreants on October 19.
According to sources, miscreants had completely cut and stolen the Christmas tree above the adapter of the OIL well located at the depleted reservoir at Gazal Basti near Bordubi in the Duliajan area. The well, OIL sources claimed, was shut since 2016. However, as a result of miscreants’ activities, OIL’s Crisis Management Team came into action and rushed to the site. The fire tenders were also stationed at the incident site to meet any eventuality.
