The trailer launch of Pritam And Pedro turned into an entertaining affair, thanks largely to Arshad Warsi’s witty one-liners and spontaneous humor. The event, held at a luxury hotel in Mumbai, was attended by Rajkumar Hirani, Vir Hirani, Vikrant Massey, Mona Singh, music director Shantanu Moitra, lyricist Swanand Kirkire, director Avinash Arun, JioStar’s Alok Jain, and cyber security expert Amit Dubey.
The upcoming web series revolves around cybercrime, and the event featured a live demonstration by Amit Dubey, who stunned attendees by showing how easily a smartphone could be hacked. The demonstration highlighted the dangers of online scams and cyber fraud, themes central to the series.
However, the spotlight remained firmly on Arshad Warsi, who had the audience in splits throughout the event. Sharing an anecdote about Rajkumar Hirani and his son Vir Hirani, Arshad joked about how children often listen more to outsiders than their own parents. Referring to Vir’s posture, he recalled how Vir ignored his father’s advice but immediately obeyed him when he suggested the same thing. This led to one of the biggest laughs of the evening when Arshad remarked, “Baap ki koi izzat nahin hoti hai, chahe aapka baap Rajkumar Hirani kyun na ho!”
Vir Hirani also praised Arshad’s acting skills, revealing that the actor often nailed scenes in a single take while he required several attempts. Arshad responded with self-deprecating humor, saying he had reached a stage in his career where he knew when a performance could not be improved further.
The biggest surprise came when Arshad inadvertently revealed that Sanjay Dutt appears in the series. Realizing he may have disclosed information that was meant to remain under wraps, he jokingly blamed the team for not informing him what he could and couldn’t say.
Pritam And Pedro is set to premiere on JioHotstar on July 3.
