In a major move ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has invited Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) national president Chirag Paswan for the July 18 meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). BJP chief J P Nadda has written a letter to Paswan, describing the LJP as an “important part of the saffron party-led NDA”. Notably, the announcement comes days ahead of the opposition’s second major uproar in Bengaluru on July 17.

The letter tweeted by news agency ANI said, “In the last 9 years, the NDA government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given a new height to the multi-dimensional development of the country. The NDA government has done remarkable work in many areas including poor welfare, restoration of cultural pride, economic progress, defense and security of the country, India’s strong reputation abroad. ”

“The NDA government has realised the real vision of service and good governance in the last 9 years. As a result, Amritkal’s India under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister is taking forward the development journey of the country. New dreams of Vision-2047 with public participation and public confidence. ”

Nadda wrote that the NDA meeting has been scheduled to be held on Tuesday, July 18 at 5 pm at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister Modi. The letter further said, “You are invited to this meeting. Your role as an important partner of NDA and your cooperation not only strengthens the alliance but also strengthens the development journey of the country. Your presence is requested at the meeting of NDA allies. ”

Reacting to the invitation, Chirag Paswan spoke to ANI and said a final decision will be taken after consulting party leaders. “We have supported the BJP on various issues from time to time, but a final decision on whether to go to the NDA meeting or not will be taken after a meeting with party leaders,” the LJP (Ram Vilas) chief said. “
